Great Aycliffe Town Council established their Community Recognition Award Scheme in 2022. It was developed to provide a way to recognise and acknowledge the dedication, commitment and outstanding contributions that nominated individuals make to improve and promote the Parish of Great Aycliffe.
Our newest recipient of the award is Simon Astill who was nominated for his years of voluntary work within the parish.
The Mayor, Councillor Ken Robson presented the award and congratulated Mr. Astill on his hard work and dedication and added, “It is always a pleasure to promote the best of Newton Aycliffe and particularly recipients of this award. Simon is a fine example of how our residents can make a difference in our lovely town.”
