Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group are opening another charity shop, located in Darlington, the aim is to help more cancer patients and their families. The shop in Newton Aycliffe will remain open on a Tuesday, Thursday and a Friday.
The Darlington Hub will have a lot more space to feature wigs, head wear etc, and we will be able to offer more support with benefits and grants due to the huge cost of living. Our team will also be there to offer emotional support as well as refer to the right health professional.
The advice hub will be open within the shop at Darlington on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9.30am – 2.30pm (if we have enough help).
Volunteers Urgently needed in Darlington and Aycliffe.
A cancer diagnosis is devastating – not just for the patient, but for family, friends and colleagues. We aim to provide help and support where it is needed, but we cannot do that without our volunteers who play a vital role in our charity. The volunteers are amazing, not only are you helping cancer patients, but it helps you by gaining new skills as well as building your confidence.
On 2nd September we will be holding an ‘Open Day’ which includes free hot dogs (limited amount), the fantastic Tommy Bungle, who many years ago did various entertainments including Punch and Judy. Other activities on the day are still to be confirmed.
We are also reaching out to any businesses that could support us with raffle prizes or a donation towards the activities on the day of opening.
