Community Connect on Aycliffe Radio are helping people in Newton Aycliffe find their voice. Presenters Phill Hawkins and Amy Kirsty Harrison are establishing a reputation as a team who aren’t afraid to tackle important issues such as mental health, drug use and misuse, poverty and homelessness. The programme in its fifth week has already established a strong following with listeners tuning in on a Wednesday evening from 6.30 till 8.00pm, catching previous shows on Mix Cloud, and joining the Community Connect Face Book page.

The show was designed specifically to encourage local residents and businesses to get in touch and have their say on local issues, what’s happening in the community and just as importantly what’s not happening, when maybe it should be. No topic is too small or insignificant and if it’s important to you then we want to hear from you.

The show is an easy mix of good music to satisfy most tastes, lively discussions and interesting guests in the studio. If you want to request a dedication for a special person or occasion, share your thoughts with us, or simply to say Hi, it couldn’t be simpler.
