Huge congratulations to all those who participated in the Charity Kickathon on Thursday 30th June. Martial Artists from Darlington and Newton Aycliffe stepped up to the plate to raise money and awareness for the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association (PSPA).
An idea from 11 year old Martial Artist, Matthew Thompson, was picked up by his Taekwondo club and a charity challenge was thrown down. Students and Instructors of Kim Chung Do Kwan were sponsored to do as many kicks as possible in 10 minutes.  Matthew, whose Grandad suffers from PSP, was keen to get as close to 10,000 as possible.
The evening was well supported by the students and their families, for which we cannot give enough thanks. The kickathon raised over £600 for PSPA and was promoted on a global scale. It was a fantastic experience to see people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds uniting for a common cause. Hopefully we will never need the services of the PSPA, but it is hugely reassuring to know this fantastic support network is out there for those who need it.
