Alex Kent, age 11, of Oakfield, Newton Aycliffe, decided to have her beautiful long hair cut short to begin her senior school years at Greenfield Community College. Not only was it going to be cut short, but donated to charity, after it grew so long while shielding over the last 18 months.
Alex decided, after reading about human hair being made into wigs and hair pieces for other children with severe hair loss through illness or accidents, that she would like to donate 16 inches of her hair to ‘The Little Princess Trust’. So far she has also raised £203 to donate to the charity through sponsorship to go towards the wig making costs.
Alex had her hair cut on Saturday 28th August and said “I am pleased to be able to do something for children less fortunate than myself and to raise money for doing it at the same time. I would like to say thank you very much to everyone who sponsored me.”
