Local businesses play an important part in protecting the environment and ensuring a sustainable legacy for future generations. Each one can play their part and when it comes to major environmental issues, such as our carbon footprint, size does matter.
But every little bit helps, and no carbon initiative is ever too small, or a waste of time or effort in the great scheme of things, and helping to make the planet safe and people friendly for future generations is about as good as it gets.
Carbon Capture; Newton Press is one such local business who are investing heavily in supporting the UK Net-Zero strategy by 2050. A successful, multi award winning company, have helped raise over £1.37 Million to date for the Woodland Trust, and the planting of more than 354,000 trees and capturing over 82,000 tonnes of CO2.
This was made possible through involvement with the Carbon Capture programme and the Woodland Trust’s, Woodland Carbon scheme.
As part of the UK’s Net-Zero strategy, the Committee for Climate Change (CCC) recommends the planting of 30,000 trees per year from 2024, the equivalent of 1.5 Billion more trees by 2050.
