Last month saw the launch of the Rubicon Bereavement Support Group at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Woodham. The group has been formed by Jan Carr, Lay Minister with the Church of England, to meet the needs of the many bereaved families she meets through the privilege of conducting funerals in the town.
Sooner or later grief comes to everyone, it is no respecter of persons and at the Rubicon, our team of caring people from all walks of life are ready to welcome you and offer support.
You may have family and friends to help you through your bereavement but you may also long for someone outside your immediate circle, with the same broken emotional ties, to share your sense of sorrow with.
Your loss may be recent, or you may still feel the emptiness of a bereavement of many years ago and although we are not a counselling service, we can, over a cup of coffee, offer you a listening ear and support in your journey of healing.
We meet every Thursday at St Elizabeth’s Church Hall between 2pm and 4pm. The No. 7 bus (opposite the Leisure Centre) will drop you at Woodham Green and a short walk up the footpath will bring you to St, Elizabeth’s.
If public transport is difficult for you, ring Jan Carr on 01325 321225 or Ernie Temple on 01325 313449, when we will be happy to arrange alternative travel for you.
Hospitality and support are free of charge, a donation of £1 for refreshments will be gratefully accepted.
