Newton Aycliffe Youth Women
On Easter Monday, the team were invited to be guests of Newton Aycliffe FC at their home game against Dunston. Several of the ladies were able to make the game, to recognise their achievement in gaining promotion this season. After meeting with the some of the first team, the ladies sat down to watch an entertaining first half of football. Unfortunately, rain stopped play and the second half was abandoned, but the ladies still had a good time. NAYFC Women wish Newton Aycliffe FC every success for the rest of the season

Wolviston Reserves 2
On a nice sunny day, the seniors at last had a home game and entertained the leagues bottom club Wolviston. From the start, Aycliffe looked off the ball and were trying to force the game, instead of relaxing and playing at their best. A few half chances went by and some tight decisions saw the lads have a goal disallowed and penalty waved away.
Then Aycliffe won a free kick on the edge of the box, Jack Mortimer stepped up and dispatched it into the top corner. Aycliffe went down to 10, when a player was sin binned, but they extended the lead when Ryan Peart dinked over the keeper. HT 2-0. Three changes at half time and one of the subs extended our lead when Corbyn Mitchell was free in the box and fired past the keeper. Jack then burst through their defence, went round the keeper and brought down, but no penalty given. From the restart, a ball into the Aycliffe box bounced around and Wolviston grabbed one back. This was followed by a free kick thirty yards out that found the back of the net and the visitors were back in the game.
Aycliffe were still the better team and creating, but nothing fell for the lads, until Jack broke free and crossed for Steven Dawson to finish six yards out. Time for a couple more subs, one seeing Dougie Grant coming on for what could be his last competitive game. Dougie went close twice, ending on a high. MOM Jack Mortimer.
