Newton Aycliffe residents are being given another chance to improve their employability with a popular free course run by a local church.
Members of Life Church in Newton Aycliffe, who have been trained by UK charity Christians Against Poverty, are again running the club aimed at helping the local community to best handle problems of finance etc.
Job Club Manager, Debbie Surtees, who will be leading the CAP Job Club sessions, said: “When it comes to job hunting, having the right tools and techniques up your sleeve can really improve your chances in finding work. We provide a personal service which gives people both practical and emotional support.”
Life Church is one of more than 82 churches of different Christian traditions across the UK who will be running a CAP Job Club, as they work together to positively impact the communities around them.
CAP Job Clubs work with individuals to meet their personal needs. Sessions cover practical topics such as identifying strengths, CV writing and interview techniques.
Debbie added: “With more people facing long-term employment, we hope to help people gain the confidence and skills they need to get back into work again.”
The next course takes place at St Clare’s, starting at 12pm until 2.30pm on Wednesday June 4th .  To book your place please phone 07593 585082 or e-mail lifeline.action@googlemail.com
