Sedgefield 2004 and younger players travelled to Sheffield Ponds Forge for the Sheffield Development Competition on Sunday 11th June. The younger members travelled to Sheffield with justified expectations of doing well after their recent competition at Sedgefield, where they achieved a silver medal on home turf. The team earned solid victories over Rotherham, Huddersfield, Sheffield Sharks and a narrow defeat to NW Fusion saw Sedgefield into the Cup competition.
In this round, Sedgefield had a hard fought draw with NW Fusion and a respectable victory over Leeds – finally coming up short against Sheffield Stingrays. The medal decider against Sheffield Stingrays proved to be a round too far with eventual defeat 0-8. This was an excellent achievement from our young team who are learning from the national and international successes seen recently from our older players.
