A party of 22 cyclists from a Aycliffe Velo Cycling Club recently travelled to Puerto Pollensa, Majorca for a 5 day Cycling break. Members of the club cycled through mountain villages and along coastal roads taking in cycling routes of Llubi, Sa Posla, Bulgar and Cala St. Vicente, enjoying some incredible views on their steep hill climbing and descents. The route from Puerto Pollensa to the lluc Monastery in the Tramuntana Mountains via Coll de Sa Batalla and descent via Coll de Femenia and Campanet provided a stunning scenic backdrop.

The route from Pollensa to the famous Lighthouse at Cap de Formentor tested the cycling skills with its good climbs, speedy twisting descents, a tunnel without lights and plenty of speed. The club, which was established in March 2014, invites new members at all levels and has social rides on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Anyone interested in joining should contact club Secretary, Rebekah Parker at rebekahparker@btinternet.com or telephone 07710 751698
