The residents of the Williamfield Area of Newton Aycliffe would like to thank Kerry Wooton for taking the time to collect the 480 signatures for our “SAVE OUR BRIDGE PETITION” which Dorothy Bowman Chairperson of the local residents association  personally handed in to Head of Services at Durham County Council.  The work on this bridge has now started and will save people having to walk the extra distance.

It is hoped Kerry will be allowed to cut the opening ribbon because it was a long, hard job collecting the signatures.  The money for restoring the bridge came from local County Councillors from their Neighbourhood Budget.
