St. Clare’s Church held a fundraising Fayre with a wartime theme last Saturday which all attendees enjoyed. A number of artefacts were on display including gas mask box, ration books, food and baking. Games, dancing, listening to Vera Lynn and the Andrew’s Sisters was also very interesting. There was even a reminder of what was used as toilet paper in the 40’s!
