Aycliffe Company Gain Accreditation

Learning provider ITEC North East are diversifying their long established work-based training portfolio with the addition of Warehousing & Storage to be delivered as an Apprenticeship.

Emma Booth, Operations Director, has spent time researching the potential demand throughout the region, “We have recognised the significant industrial capacity and identified we are not providing an opportunity for staff working “behind the scenes” who deal with the movement and storage of goods, an essential part of logistics operations. As a result we have spent time working with City & Guilds in order to now offer an Apprenticeship in Warehousing & Storage – Level 2.”

Over 130,000 workplaces offer apprenticeships because they understand the benefits apprenticeships bring to their business – increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a committed and competent workforce.  Growing numbers of young people are being attracted to apprenticeships for the support, training and job prospects delivered in a working environment and ITEC received over 300 online applications in February for a wide range of vacancies throughout the region.

Local employers can access training for their existing staff or work with ITEC’s Business Development Team to recruit fresh new talent into their workforce.  Eligible companies can access the AGE 16 – 24 Grant offering £1,500 towards wage costs, full details are available from staff based at our Newton Aycliffe Head Office – 01325 320052.
