A village hall garden and yard has been transformed thanks to the efforts of a team of volunteers from 3M Aycliffe.
Great Aycliffe Village Hall Association is very grateful to the group who arrived recently to help restore the overgrown front border and tidy up the area surrounding the village hall.
The work included trimming the trees and shrubs in the main flower bed and weeding it before covering the area in a membrane and gravel, removing moss from the yard area and painting a perimeter fence.
Sue Hindle, treasurer of the village hall, said: “The committee is delighted with the results and extremely grateful to the volunteers from 3M who gave their time to help tidy up the area surrounding the village hall.
“The garden and yard look brilliant and people have already commented on how much better it all looks.”
3M, based on Aycliffe Business Park, is a science-based technology company producing products to help improve people’s lives all over the world.
The help was offered via the company’s 3Mgives programme, which enables employees to provide volunteer support to projects in communities close to 3M sites.
