Planet Leisure at Maple Way on the Business Park is now completed, aiming to become the entertainment venue of the area.  Not only do Planet Leisure boast the most comprehensive range of attractions in the region providing Laser Wars, Ten Pin Bowling, Ice Skating, Karaoke Pods, Aerial Trekking, Pool Rooms, Acrades, Bars and Restaurants.

Planet Leisure plans to create an ‘adults only’ area within the facility for late night entertainment up to 1am.

Planet Leisure has been granted an extension to their licence and have created a 130 seat adult only venue that will be providing recorded and live music.  Please check adverts in Newton News for dates and details of the bands.

The Laser Arena is the latest facility to be installed – designed spcifically for Aycliffe with guarantedd enjoyment and excitement. COD meets real combat in the regions only Laser Arena.Each participant is provided with a helmet, camouflaged vest and a choice of weapon from the 40 gun Arsenal.

This Arena represents a milestone venue and has been chosen to be the development site for the latest guns and software by the Australian equipment suppliers. it has to be seen to be believed!

The arena boasts two levels over 5000 sq.ft featuring a colour changing maze, laser special effects, searchlights, smoke and haze machines plus special sound effects to make the experience a truly memorable occasion for all ages.

Another first for the region is  2 private Karaoke Rooms.  Each sound proof room is equipped with the very latest touch screen Karaoke equipment and Disco lighting with the latest songs making it an ideal venue for parties of all ages. A waiter call system has been added to serve your food and drinks.

Three of the latest pool tables have been provided in the dedicated Pool Room and in the coming weeks Sky Sports will be provided.

This is a truly magnificent Sports and Entertainment venue unequalled in the north east. An enormous amount of money, time expertise and energy have gone into this project and the Peckitt family are to be congratulatd for their efforts. The yhave provided a spectacular facility for the town and region and deserve success.

Darren Peckitt told Newton News it has been an exhausting and expensive project to complete and he is grateful for the support received from Newtonians since opening. He invited Councillor George Gray to open the Laser Arena as one of the local councillors who saw the potential and encouraged him throughout the planning application process.
