It’s been busy as usual on a day to day basis keeping Rescue hogs happy, healthy and comfy and, at last, my hip replacement surgery is scheduled for March, can’t wait! So what I want to do is a couple of fundraisers before then. I have a couple of places in mind, I will update you when I know for certain about when and where. I hope you will take the time to come and see me.
Can I remind everyone that if you have had visiting hogs during spring and summer and you have a hedgehog house, please check them to see if all is well, some rescues are still admitting little hogs, 300 grams and sometimes smaller, these little hogs are in trouble especially with temperatures dropping below zero, all will need rescuing and overwintering. I check my garden morning and night, despite me being seriously over capacity I would still bring him or her in without question, so please check regularly, help is always at hand. Help us to help these lovely mammals.
I have been fortunate enough to meet Stephanie, she has donated two hog houses/feeding stations which are very good, hand made too, should you want one please drop me an email. All proceeds of the sale of these go to the rescue. Any donations that come in are purely voluntary, rehabbers don’t charge finders and neither should vets, my medicine cupboard is very well equipped thanks to Angela, Ed and Elaine of Grange Vets, I owe them a debt of gratitude for the attention they give me and the rescue hogs.
Also a debt of gratitude to all my followers. Because of everyone who supported me last year I managed to release 55 back into the wild, this year I will do much better.
Pictured above is Tilly and Rana, they have been quite unwell since New Years’ Day but making some progress now, they are very sweet natured as they all are, a pleasure to have here til spring now.
