The championships took place over three weekends 26/27th January, 2/3rd February and 9/10th February. Sedgefield 75 ASC had five swimmers competing. Katelyn Craig and James Hodgson competed in the senior gala which was held at Sheffield. Mathew Wimbury, Mateusz Wilcznski and Emma Price competed in the Age Group Gala held at Sunderland. They took part in a total of twenty events over the three weekends and swam in a total of fourteen finals,
Emma, competing in the eleven year age group, had a golden weekend on the 9/10th February taking first place in the 200 FS in a time of 2:27. Great to win a county gold but to do it in a time that ranked her fastest in the country was very special. The silver lining for her championships was the results she achieved in the 200 Backstroke, the 100 FS, the 400 FS and the 200 IM, silver medals in all four events
Mathew, swimming in his first N&D Championships, made the final of the 50 Breast stroke. He improved on his entry time in the heats and achieved another PB in the final. An excellent performance.
Mateusz, competed in the 100 Fly, making the final in a new best time, as well as the 50 FS and 50 Fly.
James competed in the 50 and the 100 FS and Katelyn competed in the 50 Fly and the 50 FS and both achieved personal best times just missing out making the finals.
Great performances from everyone so early in the new year.
