After hearing about the vital work the Food Bank does in our local area, Sugar Hill Primary School decided it wanted to help. They pledged their support for the month of October and each week the collection point bins grew fuller and fuller, with plenty of tins/packets and jars that the children and staff had donated.
Ernie Temple, the Food Bank Coordinator based at St. Clare’s Church came along on the last day of term to say a big well done and thank you to everyone. He spoke to the children about where their food would be going and why. After several trips back to the centre, the food was weighed and Ernie was delighted to tell the school that a wonderful 158.39 kilos of food had been donated. Sugar Hill Primary prides itself on being active in the community and they deserve a big well done!
