At a recent Trustee’s meeting at The Agnew Community Centre President Jean Cochrane mentioned there was an issue on youngsters wishing to play football in the vicinity of Tanfield Place where she lived.
Ron Mitchie Secretary and Centre Manager said this had been a problem for the young people and was sure there would be nothing stopping them from playing on the left hand side of the Agnew Centre grounds.
“We are a Community Centre and our young people are part of it and allowing them to play in the grounds would also keep them safe. Obviously they would need to check each time they wanted to play that there was nothing happening in the Centre that would cause a problem”.
All the trustees agreed with this action and Joan Clark who had just been co-opted onto the committee to help with marketing and PR would inform everyone concerned.
