Former Woodham Comprehensive pupil Tom Rogerson completed a daunting fund raising feat on Saturday 17th June. Together with fellow Abbey Runner Simon Jones he completed all eleven Leeds park run courses in one day, a total of 55 kilometres or 35 miles.
Running for Zarach, the charity which provides beds and bedding for children in poverty, they have so far raised 93% of a £3,000 target.
They started at 5.00am and finished twelve hours later, driving from venue to venue and completing each run in under 30 minutes.
They were strongly supported by friends, family and the many course marshals and fellow runners who turned out to assist. Over 500 participants attended the Woodhouse Moor event which was number four on their list, where Tom was accompanied on the run by his wife Gill and children, Jennifer 8 and Edward 5.
