On Saturday 27th May, our own Aycliffe Radio’s Stephen Hindle had the great honour of interviewing Bob Dylan’s friend, confidante and bass player, Rob Stoner for Steve & Cols Folk/Rock Radio Show. Rob is seen here whilst on tour with Bob during the Rolling Thunder Revue Tour in 1976.
Rob, who now lives in New York City was asked questions put to him by Steve, Col, and the shows listeners on what it was like working and touring with Dylan, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, Scarlet Rivera, Mick Ronson, Eric Clapton and more during the mid 70s, and also his part on the making of the best selling No 1 album ‘Desire’. Rob also played bass guitar on Don McLeans worldwide hit ‘American Pie’.
Steve has been a big fan of Bob Dylan since 1977 and, has obviously played many of his songs on – Steve & Cols Folk/Rock Show on Aycliffe Radio.
Steve is currently working on putting the show together and will share the details later this summer when Aycliffe Radio adds small scale DAB to its broadcasting options.
In the meantime the weekly show can be heard every Sunday from 4pm until 6pm on www.ayclifferadio.co.uk/listen
