The search is on for County Durham’s most dedicated pupils.
Durham County Council is trying to track down teenagers in their final year of secondary school and children in their last year of primary school who have a 100 % attendance record.
Youngsters who have never missed even a half day in class throughout their whole secondary or primary education will be invited to a special celebration event.
The evening will be held at Durham County Cricket club where the dedicated pupils will be given a tour of the club and have photographs taken as well as taking part in an awards presentation.
To be eligible for an award, attendance must continue to be 100 per cent until the pupil’s official leaving date in the summer. If you think this applies to your child then contact his or her school for more information.
The council is also contacting schools directly in order to identify eligible pupils.
