The red Box Project is a nationwide campaign at alleviating “period poverty” among young people. To do this the project donates and maintains supplies of sanitary products, mainly to schools and colleges. To get the project off the ground we need two things; volunteers to help with collection and distribution, and donations of both products and cash. Sedgefield Constituency Labour Women’s Network has begun the task by placing a Red Box in Newton Aycliffe Youth centre. In the coming weeks they aim to set up collection points throughout the district. If your shop, factory, business, organisation, social group etc. would like to be considered as a collection point for local people to make product donations, we would like to hear from you. If you would like to make a cash donation, we would like to hear from you. If your school would like to benefit from the Red Box Project, they would also like to hear from you. It is only through community kindness that we can make a difference.
