On Tuesday 22nd January Year 11 students from Woodham Academy were given the opportunity to attend in school interviews for Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College. The interviews took place in the schools’ learning centre and allowed students to experience the formal interview process within the familiar setting of their own school. Each interview lasted approximately 15 minutes and was carried out by a member of teaching staff from the college. These interviews are part of Woodham Academy’s extensive careers support programme. The school’s aim is for every single student to move on to further education or training at college or through an apprenticeship. Careers co-ordinator, Dave Walker, says, “We are extremely grateful to QE for coming into school and giving our year 11 students the opportunity to be interviewed at this extremely busy time of the year. It has provided our students with peace of mind that if they continue to work hard and prepare well for their upcoming GCSE examinations they have a guaranteed place’.
