Hall Garth Hotel is certainly at the forefront of it’s competitor in reducing its carbon footprint. Last month the hotel installed ground source heating across its 70 acre site. This month they are joining a growing number of North East businesses helping to convert the region’s food waste mountain into green energy.
As a member of the Food Fuel Club they are helping generate green energy that is powering the region while also saving money through reducing the amount of landfill tax they pay.
With Stables pub and Oswalds’ Restaurant, the volume of food waste is significant. With an agreement in place with Warrens, all of this unwanted food waste is now being used as renewable energy, thus reducing their environment impact .
