Phil Wilson, MP for Sedgefield, visited Dogs Trust Darlington on Thursday 8th August to catch up with the Rehoming Centre’s dedicated staff and some of the canine residents waiting for new homes.

Mr Wilson was given a tour of the rehoming centre and met a number of dogs currently awaiting their forever homes, including Chief, a young English Pointer.

Following the visit, Sue Embleton, Dogs Trust Darlington Centre Manager, said “We were delighted to welcome Phil back to Dogs Trust Darlington. Like all of us at Dogs Trust, it’s fantastic that Phil cares so deeply about animal welfare and we are grateful for his ongoing support. Just recently Phil was a guest judge of the Dog Show at our Fun Day, an annual event where we raise money towards looking after the dogs in our care and providing them with all their home comforts while waiting on permanent homes.”

Phil Wilson MP said: “It was a pleasure to pay another visit to Dogs Trust Darlington where the staff work so tirelessly to ensure all the dogs in their care are well looked after. Their Fun Day last month was also a fantastic day out and I was delighted to lend my support as a guest judge of Most Handsome Dog.”
