The Pioneering Care Partnership invited people to an Open Day at the Centre on Saturday 1 June. 137 visitors enjoyed experiencing everything PCP has to offer, for free!

PCP were showcasing the new family activities on offer including Dodgeball, Street Dance, Stride Fun and Games and Arts and Crafts.

Visitors also discovered the full programme of social activities, aimed at getting them out of the house and meeting new people such as New Age Kurling, Colour your Life creative arts classes, Boccia, Zumba Gold, health walks and cycling.

PCP Health trainers delivered their maximum 10 health checks for the event where people aged 40 – 74 had their height, weight and waist measured, a simple finger stick test for cholesterol and blood pressure checks. Anyone wanting a free health check can contact PCP to make an appointment.

Pat Lerigo was the lucky winner of the prize draw on the day and has won a £25 therapy voucher.

Carol Wood, Business Development Director for the PCP says: “We were happy to welcome some new visitors to the Centre as we want more people to experience what PCP have to offer. We organise a full range of inexpensive, friendly classes, groups and courses to help people get fit, learn a new skill, discover a new hobby or improve their confidence and self-esteem. We also wanted to raise awareness of our therapy suite and hydrotherapy pool which offer an alternative way to relax, reduce aches and pains and improve mobility.

We’re hoping our new family activities and Supporter Scheme means we can reach out to a wider range of people who may not have visited the Pioneering Care Centre before.”
