An NHS and health & social care recruitment event for anybody looking for work or wishing to change their career within the health & social care sector is now open for bookings.
Attendees can find out about the wide range of careers available within the NHS and health & social care sector. During the evening there will also be opportunities to apply for jobs and get advice and support from NHS staff and local universities.
Nikki Brodhurst, Widening Participation Ambassador for County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Within the NHS there are more than 350 different careers that some individuals are not aware of or associate with the NHS and the health & social care sector.
“We are thrilled to be hosting this event to allow individuals to find out more about vacancies that are available across the county.
“We’ll have colleagues from our County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation recruitment team on hand to support individuals with accessing NHS Jobs and giving information on how to apply for roles within the NHS.
“Colleagues from Durham County Council will be sharing the opportunities they have on offer across the Council and health & social care sector. There will also be representatives from local universities on hand to offer advice and guidance to anybody wishing to look at higher education options that are available to help them on their career journey.”
Teesside University will also be delivering three exciting sessions focussing on ways to brand yourself, to think about your core motivation and values, and why you want to apply for a career in health.
Help will also be on hand to write personal statements that stand out from the crowd and the last interactive session will provide hints and tips for good interview techniques.
The free recruitment event will be held on Tuesday 20th June at The Glow Centre, Newton Aycliffe from 3.30pm until 7pm but booking a place is via Eventbrite.
