Newton Press was very disappointed to miss publishing last week’s issue of Newton News due to bad weather conditions preventing the delivery of paper to our factory.

We did publish on-line so some important stories were circulated for those who visited our website.

Obviously there is a duplication of articles in this week’s issue as we try to catch up with local news and information.

We believe most people still like to read and feel their community newspaper and do not rely on websites and social media.

The information we print is a permanent record for people to refer to and keep. Research also shows the printed word is still the most popular media.

It was thought that Kindle Books, read on tablets, would kill off books but that has not happened and interest in all types of printed work is as popular as ever.

Facebook and websites have the advantage for immediate sharing among your “friends” and followers, but it is restricted and there are problems with security and abuse yet to be solved.

Use your local community newspaper to get your message across. We have a weekly circulation of 17,000 and 50,000 weekly hits on our website copy of Newton News.
