Once again the OakLeaf pitches were closed with the pitches being waterlogged, however, some teams did manage to play:
Eaglescliffe U23’s 2 v Newton Aycliffe U23’s 3 (cup)
Away trip in cup as we looked to extend our unbeaten run, Aycliffe had chances to take the lead before Jake’s square ball found Richard who forced home from close range. Then a long pass from Jack was nodded past the rushing keeper to make it 2-0 at half time. The lads then sat back and allowed Eaglescliffe back into the game and they took advantage, hitting back making it 2-2. However, a penalty was awarded and Jack slotted home the winner to move on to the next round of the cup
CLS Amazons Flamingos 0 v U14 Girls 7
Flat first 15 minutes but the girls still found the back of the net and we were on the front foot. I knew they had more in them and that started to show. Some clean passing and fast paced moves were too much for the Amazons. Half time was 3-0. Second half and the girls really started to play with some fantastic team goals and some great individual performances to run out comfortable winners.
U7 Eagles v Norton & Stockton
An incredible game and performance by the Eagles, 4 nil down at half time to a very good, experienced team, there was a worry that it would be a heavy defeat. But the boys listened to what was said at half time and never gave up. Two goals from Luke, 2 goals from Ollie and an OG from Norton capped a brilliant second half performance but Norton just shaded the game
Deerness Valley 0 v U12 Girls 5
Lily was first to beat the keeper on 14 minutes following Eva’s assist from right midfield. Hannah followed up 2 minutes later by getting on the end of Marley’s defensive clearance, and Peyton then got our teams third goal in 5 minutes by intercepting a goal kick and driving straight down the middle. HT 3-0. The second half was much like the first with our defence holding strong. Our final two goals both came in the last 5 minutes. Hannah scored a brilliant goal into the bottom right corner and Maddy scored her first goal of the season from a corner. Coaches: Yasmin. Players: Maddy.
U10 Girls v CLS Golds
Top of the league clash with CLS unbeaten all season, despite CLS taking the league the girls equalised in the final 5 mins from a great goal from Poppy B
Second game of the weekend on Sunday.

Strong team display from the girls who dominated the game from the first whistle. Goal scorers: Poppy B x5, Phoebe, Amelia, Poppy H.
