An exciting new Music Service has been launched in Newton Aycliffe and is attracting the attention of young and old alike. The brand new company launched last month already has classes aimed at experienced musicians as well as complete beginners. The company comprises of Amy Purvis, a Professional Singer and Vocal Coach, who is experienced in the UK and abroad and Dan Kilford Professional Guitarist and Tutor for over 15 years, producer and music technology enthusiast. Musikality Services not only provide traditional musical theatre classes for children but also small group and one to one vocal and music tuition in guitar, drums, keys, bass, ukulele and much more. Following the half term break there will also be a number of new classes introduced in music technology, DJ skills plus a community choir with a live band. Director Amy Purvis explained ‘MusiKality is all about inclusion and community. We aim to make music accessible to everyone who wants to be involved. From our soon to be Community Choir and improvisation sessions, we hope to bring services which until now have not been available in the area.  We have already begun to create links with local schools, providing something a little different to class room music lessons.  We strongly believe that music and theatre arts belong to everyone and access to tuition should be accessible to everyone who wants it.’ We currently have a private teaching room situated within Bede House on Aycliffe Business Park and for larger classes we are based at Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre.  Musical Theatre sessions run every Monday from 5pm till 6pm for 4-8 years and 6pm till 7pm for 9 years plus. Private lessons run throughout the week with our improvisation class being held on a Monday from 7.30pm. For more information on any of the above please contact us via email musikalityservices@ gmail.com or give us a call on 07787402233 alternatively you can find us on Facebook.  Classes commence again on the 31st of October with our Musical Theatre Halloween special, filled with spooky fun and drama.  We will also be hosting a pumpkin competition so don’t forget to bring along your carved pumpkins.
