Director Darren Marsden was born and educated in Doncaster graduating from Leeds University in Civil Engineering. He was employed as a Commercial Manager for a UK-wide Construction Company and left full time employment to focus on this enterprise.

He is married with three children and two miniature schnauzer dogs. I wanted a change, to challenge myself, this opportunity was one that presented itself which had the greatest opportunity of success.

The company was a going concern, known as ‘Leangrange Ltd’ which went into liquidation in September 2017. Darren purchased the machinery and TUPE labour from the liquidator and managed to retain the staff that wanted to stay. He took on additional staff, mainly apprentices and now has a great team of people working for Parkin and Denwood Ltd, together aiming to make this enterprise a success.

Darren has seen a rapid growth from nothing to comfortably employing 22 local people in a short period of time. The company is expanding and recently employed four young apprentices, from the local community.

Darren told Newton News: “Our company aspirations are realised in the youthful employees that have joined and have very quickly become an asset to our new company.

We have invested in a new showroom, opening on 3rd March 2018, to display our products and demonstrate the quality and variety of what we produce. Our kitchens and fitted bedroom wardrobes are bespoke, enabling customers to choose from any sized units in any finish, any colour from any timber type. We have recently welcomed two designers to the team with years of experience who can take your ideas and develop them into a scheme suitable for any budget.”

Parkin and Denwood Ltd believe in supporting the local community and the Northern Power House Project and are proud to say all their suppliers are from the local vicinity. The Northern Power House Project will help boost our local community, provide a buoyant employment market and boost the local economy.

“We aim to expand our business and employ more local people in our quest to become one of the leading enterprises in the area. Buy our products and show your support for #Northernpowerhouse” said Darren.
