Students of Zanshin-Kai Karate, based at Woodham Community Centre would like to congratulate seven members who successfully passed their Black Belt gradings recently. Our club now has three new 1st Dan black belts and four more promoted to 2nd Dan black belt after the gradings on Sunday 26th November. All students were vigorously put through their paces in front of a panel of senior black belts for two hours where they had to demonstrate basic techniques, Kata, self defence moves with a partner and 30 minutes of sparring.

All the senior instructors were impressed with the hard work and effort shown by all the students grading, which included three adults and four junior students, the youngest being just eleven. Congratulations to the following people: 1st Dan Black belt – Matthew Butterworth, Aaron Busby, & Stephen Dunn. 2nd Dan Black Belt – Chris Nisbet, Julie Nisbet, Jayson Durham & Jessica Butterworth.
