NAFC Junior Section delayed the start to their football season until this weekend as a sign of respect to the late Queen Elizabeth II. All juniors wore black armbands and observed a minutes silence to convey their respects for her Majesty.
U7 Juniors played league football for the first time v Herrington FC Greens. Some great football with two goals from Reign, and one each from Fletcher and Lincoln. MOTM went to Colton who ran his socks off throughout.
U7 Reds began their football journey away to Bishop Auckland St Mary’s King’s. The whole team showed pride in their performance and played some brilliant football.
U7 Whites also embarked on their football journey v South Shields. With the bare minimum players, due to holidays, the whole team made a great effort and young Oliver even bagged himself a hat trick.
Newly formed U9’s played host to Redcar Town Whites. The juniors played some beautiful football in the second half with goals from Marshall and Koa and two from Joseph. MOTM went to Marshall for a fantastic performance.
U10 Blacks travelled to Greatham Whites. Jacob scored early in the game from Jarrod’s cross, with Max scoring a penalty also. Some great football on display, with MOTM going to keeper Liam for a strong performance and a fine penalty save.
U10 Whites met with Sunderland RCS Reds. The juniors were on form with lots of attempts on goal. MOTM went to Josh for fantastic defending.
U11 Juniors played host to Redcar Athletic Reds. Goals came from Maxi and Isaac. MOTM went to Isaac for never giving up.
U11 Blacks travelled to Brandon Blues. Charlie-John scored two goals, followed by a goal from Connor, a penalty from Rhys and a further two goals from him, giving him his hat trick. MOTM went to Charlie-John for his great all round performance.
U11 Whites travelled to South Shield St Harton and Westoe. Goals came from James, who scored two, Maxi and Zach scoring one each. MOTM went to Sammy for constant strength through the game.
U13’s were hosts to Guisborough Town. The game went Guisborough’s way with a 5-0 defeat to the juniors. Aycliffe’s MOTM was Alexander who never gave up.
U14 Blacks started their season away to Washington Whites. A new formation saw the juniors come away with a 7-4 win. Goals came from Jake (3), Keaton (2), Joseph (1) and Zak (1). MOTM went to Jake.
U14 Whites travelled to Linthorpe, with what ended as an emphatic 12-0 win. Goals game from Tom (2), Charlie (2), Noah (2), Jake G, Jayden, Ethan, Jack, Taylor and Henry. MOTM went to Taylor for excellent defending.
Newly formed U15 Blacks took on Shotton, away. The game ended in a 6-2 defeat, with Aycliffe’s goals coming from Will and Lucas. Lots of positives to take into the next game after a great effort.
U15’s Whites lost 2-1 at home to Hartlepool Pools Youth in a feisty affair. The juniors played really well and deserved something out of the game but just didn’t get the rub of the green. Jack C scored the goal.
Another new team, the U15 Reds lost their first game 2-1 to Guisborough Town. Half-time they were 2-0 down but the lads rallied and scored straight after to make it 2-1. Unfortunately they failed to equalise but the team were encouraged by their first game playing together.
U18’s played Guisborough Town at home and came away 4-2 winners. Some great movement and 100% effort from the team. Two goals apiece for Milo and Zack did the job for the juniors.
