Here is a round-up of football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.
Under 7’s – Hosted Kader, Aycliffe took the lead through Mathew and played some great football. James scored the second goal.
Under 8’s Whites – Played Durham United Wolves, it was tight game, that proved to be extremely exciting. Charlie and James (2) scored the goals. Opposition coach awarded POTM to James and parents POTM was Charlie.
Under 8’s Reds – Hosted Riverside Juniors Blues, Aycliffe played with immense pride and scored a great goal from Kian. MOTM was Michael.
Under 8’s Juniors – Played Middleton Rangers Spitfires in the cup. Aycliffe played some lovely passing football and showed great teamwork, precision and respect to move into the next round of the Cup. Goals coming from Linc (5), Reign (3), Colton (3), Rueben (2) and Felix K. MOTM went to Lincoln for a great all-round performance.
Under 10’s Reds – Travelled to Kader Juniors. Against higher division opposition, there were some outstanding saves from Jenson who was awarded MOTM by the opposition coach.
Under 11’s Whites – Won 3-1 against Shincliffe. Both sides were evenly matched, having equal opportunities on attack. Aycliffe ended the first half with a 2-0 lead, goals from Josh & Ethan. The final score was 3-1, with another goal from Ethan. MOTM was Oscar.
Under 12’s Blacks – Travelled to face Winlaton Vipers. The game was pretty evenly matched with both sides creating chances on the attack. Winlaton scored first and Aycliffe went into half time 1-0 down. In the second half it was much of the same with both teams having equal opportunities. Winlaton grabbed a second goal and then Alfie produced a cracking goal to make it 2-1 which is how the game finished. It was an all-round heroic effort from Aycliffe with some great saves from Charlie.
MOTM was Alfie who scored a superb goal, the keeper did not stand a chance.
Under 8’s Reds – Hosted Riverside Juniors Blues, Aycliffe played with immense pride and scored a great goal from Kian. MOTM was Michael.
Under 9’s – Played FC Hartlepool Blacks in a Cup game. Against higher division opposition, Aycliffe scored goals from Oliver and a last-minute effort from Eddie was enough to get Aycliffe into the next round of the draw. MOTM was Taylor for his outstanding save at a crucial point, late in the second half.
Under 16’s Whites – Lost 2-1 at home vs Spraire Lads, Aycliffe played some excellent football but missed a few chances. Kenzie scored the goal and MOTM was awarded to Jackson.
