Year 5 Mini Police, once again, reported for traffic duty last week, outside Sugar Hill Primary School to spread their Road Safety message to all pupils, parents, carers and neighbours.

Children across school were involved in Road Safety lessons as part of National Road Safety Week with the Mini Police taking action at the school gates. Following the success of the 20mph zone outside school the Mini Police are reporting they have noticed a positive difference on Sheraton Road although they are still observing some drivers stopping on the zig-zag lines and junctions.

It seems the traffic problems have moved slightly to nearby streets and Mini Police are concerned about this after talking to adults who have alerted them to this safety issue.

Sugar Hill Mini Police have all pledged to continue their duties with the local police to do all they can to ensure families can walk to and from school safely, now the dark mornings, evenings and winter weather make the journey challenging enough.

Mrs Legge who leads the Mini Police said, ‘We are so proud of our Mini Police Officers. They take their role seriously and show a commitment to ensuring they make a difference to our local community’.
