Eight swimmers from Sedgefield 75 Swimming Club made the short trip to Bishop Auckland for Wear Valley Swimming Club’s November meet and returned with a mammoth 33 medals from 41 swims.
Swimming in her first competition was Niamh Renton, who made a great start by winning bronze in 50m backstroke in an impressive time. Charlotte Lee swam in four events and won silver in 200 breaststroke and bronze in 50m freestyle.
Jessica Bell took on nine events picking up seven gold medals and a silver, the highlights being over five seconds improvement in her 100m individual medley personal best and completing her first 200m butterfly race in which she won gold. Ruby Hancock swam in five events showing a massive improvement in her 100m breaststroke personal best where she took off 28 seconds!
Charlie McEwan set a six-second PB in 50m breaststroke and came away with two golds, a silver and a bronze from his four events. Evie Weston also had a 100% medal return from her eight events with six golds and two silvers, also getting a 50m freestyle PB.
Aviana Wilson set PB’s in 100m backstroke and freestyle and took two silvers and three bronze medals from her five events. Zoe Hodgson came home with three golds, a silver and a bronze from five events including an enormous 11-seconds PB in 400m freestyle.
