The Bishop Auckland Fundraising Group for Marie Curie Cancer Care celebrated its 1st birthday recently. To date the group has raised in excess of £16,000 – thanks to the generosity of the people of South West Durham.
All monies raised goes towards providing ‘end of life care’ in the Bishop Auckland area.
In addition to supermarket collections to support Daffodil Month in March, the group has a full programme of interesting events lined up in the coming year including Curry Nights at the Spice Lounge, Blooming Great Tea Parties, Strawberry and Champagne Garden Open Days, Vintage Fashion events and, looking ahead to Christmas, a Sing-alonga-Carol Concert.
We aim to have a good time whilst raising money for this excellent cause and would be delighted to welcome new members to our monthly meetings at 1.30pm on the first Tuesday of the month in the Community Fire Station on Watling Road, Bishop Auckland.
