Hewitts Solicitors is urging workers who have lodged a compensation claim for occupational noise-induced hearing loss through a legal firm, which has entered into administration, to get in touch. Hewitts is keen to hear from former clients of Isaac Abraham Solicitors, a personal injury firm that was based in the North West of England. The firm, which entered administration last month, had been representing a number of clients from areas including Darlington, Aycliffe, Catterick and Teesside. Some have been left with substantial claims for costs after their cases were struck out or discontinued. Hewitts has already stepped in to help a number of these clients and partner Ben Green is appealing for others to get in touch. Mr Green explained: “Where a case has been struck out or discontinued there may be claims for legal costs from the defendant, even in the case was funded by a no-win, no-fee agreement.” Mr Green urged people not to panic and said they should get in touch with Hewitts as soon as possible. He added, “We can offer advice and assistance to help those individuals affected by the closure of Isaac Abraham Solicitors. Our aim is to ensure that those individuals are reimbursed for any losses they have incurred, such as by way of adverse costs orders, and ultimately that they are compensated for the injuries they have sustained.” Hewitts is one of the largest and most well-established law firms in the NorthEast covering Darlington, County Durham and Teesside. It has offices in Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe, Darlington and Stockton. Mr Green, or a member of the Hewitts personal injury team, can be contacted at Hewitts’ Bishop Auckland office on 01388 604691 or via e-mail: enquiries@ hewitts.co.uk
