A LEADING LGBTQ+ charity has revealed a spooky new look for the return of one of its most popular events later this month (October).

Northern Pride’s black tie fundraiser will transform into a Halloween Ball this year, which will take place on 29 October at Newcastle’s Crowne Plaza.

And organisers hope that guests will embrace the spirit of the season by donning a frightful costume to match the theme.

Pride supporters can enjoy a packed programme of entertainment, including performances from singer-songwriter, Tipps, and theatre company and cabaret trio, Bonnie and the Bonnettes.

Drag king Stevie Wonderful – crowned King of the Castle at the first ever National Drag King competition – will be taking to the stage, along with a playlist of popular hits covered by live band, Royal Beats.

And comperes, MXYM and Dami Fawehinmi will be on hand to entertain guests throughout the event, fresh from hosting the green room at this year’s Northern Pride Online 2.1.

Ste Dunn, Director of Northern Pride, believes it will be a night to remember.

“We’re delighted to be planning to return of our annual fundraiser and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to make it a Halloween Ball this year,” he said.

“The committee has pulled out all of the stops this year to organise a really fantastic line up of performers, who are sure create a real party atmosphere.

“It’s going to be different from any event we’ve held before and a brilliant way to celebrate Halloween in style, so it’s definitely going to be a night that guests won’t want to miss.”

Money raised from the event will go towards supporting Northern Pride’s campaigns and outreach work, along with helping to keep the annual festival weekend free to attend.

Tickets cost £35pp, which also includes a reception drink and a three course meal, and tickets can be purchased from www.northern-pride.com
