Phil Wilson, MP for Sedgefield, has been showing his support for women affected by breast cancer by dressing up in pink! Phil is encouraging his constituents to take part in possibly the UK’s pinkest fundraiser, Wear It Pink, on Friday 21st October. Back for its 15th year, Wear It Pink is calling on supporters across the country to add a flash of pink to their wardrobe for the day, to raise money for Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving breast cancer research. Phil Wilson is asking people across his constituency to get involved on the day and help Breast Cancer Now, towards their ambition that, by 2050, everyone that develops the disease will live. Wear It Pink raises close to £2 million each year for world-class research into breast cancer. To take part all you have to do is wear pink. Speaking about Wear It Pink, Phil Wilson MP has said, “50,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK and sadly 11,500 women ad 80 men will lose their lives to the disease. “However, by taking part in Wear It Pink we can help put a stop to this. “I hope people in the local community will join me by wearing it pink on Friday 21st October and show their support.”
