Liam Clement (17) Enduro Mountain Bike competitor, supported by American owned Aycliffe based company Primex Plastics Ltd., recently competed in the Tweedlove Pirelli Pro-AM British Championship Enduro event, held in the picturesque town of Peebles in the Tweed Valley Scotland.
This event was the final round of the BNES/BEMBA British Championship and to clinch the overall title Liam had to finish ahead of his nearest competitor Matt Crewther who rides the Stiff Santa Cruz team.
Liam, riding his Bird Cycleworks Aeris 9 prototype bike, a bike designed in the UK and built in Consett, rode the 31km 6 stage event with only one issue on the final stage when a crash cost him approximately 10 seconds but his overall time was still good enough to finish second behind British Junior Downhill World Cup Racer William Brodie but in front of Matt. Liam’s championship positions from events in Wales, Isle of Man and Scotland were 2 wins, 1 second place and a fifth.
Liam finished the event in an overall position of 7th out of a total of 440 competitors to end a successful weekend and British Championship season.
Liams final 2 races of the year are Round 8 of the Enduro world series in Loudenville France followed by the final round of the Scottish Enduro Series.
