Dear Editor, I have noticed in Newton News 26th May the Labour letter writers are out in force, trying to do what they do best and be- little any one that opposes them in any way, and this young Conservative Dehenna Davison has them all worried. Phil Wilson should look at what happened in the local elections where Conservatives took two seats in Woodham and there are also two extra Independents. So there will be a change in the Parliamentary election, Dehenna Davison is only a young girl and she may be a welcome change as M.P. for Newton Aycliffe. I can remember when Tony Blair stood for M.P. at Trimdon – he was young when he started and look where he is today! I must also remind voters that Labour lost control of Ferryhill and Chilton areas in the Sedgefield ward. I removed myself from the Labour Party in 2009 and I am very pleased I did because as an Independent I can do and vote the way I want. Alderman George C. Gray, West Ward Councillor
