Wednesday 4th December

We are holding our Annual General Meeting this Wednesday, 4th December, starting at 6.00pm with festive refreshments at 5.45.

We will discuss our achievements of 2019 and look forward to 2020, over the last 12 months we have been on 8 days out to various places Whitby, Cragside, Lightwater Valley, Scarborough and more. In August we held our Free Community Fun Day with approximately 1,500 people enjoying the many rides and exhibits. We worked with other Community Groups to hold a Community Pop up Shop held in the town centre, this event allowed the groups to show off the great work being carried out across our town on a daily basis by volunteers for the benefit of others. We held a Race night in October to raise funds to subsidise our children’s Christmas trip on the Teesside Princess. We have continued our support towards David Sutton-Lloyd’s Defibrillator project to place Defib units across our town. We purchased replacement adult and children’s pads for the unit that is held inside the Greenfield Convenience shop. To find out more about this vital project email woodham.community@gmail.com

At the beginning of the year we pledged to engage with 10% of new people joining us on our days out, we smashed this target with approximately 40% of people enjoying the trips, meeting new friends.

We have also worked closely with local Councillors, Livin, Police, Councils, and Community Groups to improve our great neighbourhoods making them better places to live and work. There are many people and groups to thank for their support over the past year, G.A.M.P., Newton Aycliffe County Councillors, G.A.T.C., Rotary Club, Livin, Bay Horse Middridge, Tesco, Wilko’s, Simpasture Fisheries, Village Pharmacy, Heads Up Hairdressing, Durham Constabulary, Greenfield Community and Arts College, Newton News, Aycliffe Today, Phoenix Club, without support our work would be impossible.

At this meeting we will elect the new committee for 2020, if anyone wishes to stand please come along, everyone is welcome.
