Rachel Stephenson is committed to raising as many funds as possible in the next three months for “Helping Hands” to help support people facing financial crisis in the area.
Rachel says “I’ve seen first-hand the positive changes Helping Hands make in people’s lives and I’m determined to do what I can to support their valuable work.  I’ve eagerly followed the articles in the Newton News and I decided that I couldn’t just sit back and think about helping but I want to put my thoughts into practice.
“However, I need the Newton News readers support to make it happen! I would like good/excellent quality household items for me to sell on Ebay or Car Boot Sales or do you have a wardrobe bulging with clothes that you seldom wear?
I’d like to invite you to  ‘spring clean your wardrobe’ and donate new/nearly new children and adults clothing to this worthy cause. Some of the children’s clothing will not be sold because there are needy families who need them.
With your help we envisage that the Helping Hands project will support 2,500 people in 2014 and already they are well on the way to meeting that target.”
“If you would like to help please ring 07936 431262 for us to arrange collection or we’ll let you know the drop-off points. In addition, we have a funder who will match donations up to £1000.  Would you like to start the ball rolling?”
“Alternatively, if you are reading this and need Helping Hands to help you – please ring 07936 431262.”
“I look forward to keeping you up to date with the progress I am making through the Newton News. Thank you in advance for your support.”
