Under 8’s maintained their 100% start to the season with a battling 1-0 win over Leven AFC Juniors. Theo Callaghan scored the only goal of the game after a lovely move involving Layton Collier & great wing play and delivery by Jay Bulch, with Theo finishing clinically as usual! There were chances to put the game to bed but Heighington saw the game out with a great defensive display from Man of the match Tyler Woodward and some good saves from Oliver Paylor.
The second game saw Heighington win 5-2 with goals from Tyler Woodward (2) Jay Bulch, Theo Callghan & Layton Collier. Tyler Gibbon in the Heighington goal was man of the match with some great saves.
Under 11’s were away to Middleton Rangers in a very physical game. Both teams competed very hard but no one could break the deadlock before half time .In the second half Heighington  went close early on with Owen Evans bursting through the defence only to watch his attempt chip the keeper smash off the bar. Middleton then went ahead against the run of play and as Heighington pushed for an equaliser the home side hit Heighington on the break for there 2nd.
At two down Heighington had nothing to lose and played with 3 strikers and with 5 mins to go paid dividend when Thomas Connell pulled one back. Heighington threw everything at a the home team but could not find the equaliser. A terrific battling display by the whole team.
Under 15’s – Up against mid table Redcar Newmarket today at home. The early encounters suggested that the away team were more comfortable in possession, but it was the home side who took the lead through top scorer Adam Scott, who finished well after Roman had put him through on goal.
The away team then equalised after a speculative lob caught Timmy Furphy out in goal. They continued to press and it was no surprise that they went ahead 2-1 just before half time. After the break the home side were much more energised and had all the possession as well.
It was against the run of play that Redcar scored a third after a through ball caught out the defence. Even being 2 goals down the home team battered the Redcar defence, hitting the woodwork twice and forcing the keeper to make some cracking saves, but also the strikers squandering great opportunities.
A second goal was scored from a cross from Luke Prescott, which was headed into their own net with 15 to go which was final score, although a draw would have probably been a fairer result on the day. So a first league defeat of the season for Division 3 table toppers, and onto the Challenge Cup, away to Billingham next weekend.
