Leading health and wellbeing charity Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) is thrilled to announce the launch of the Happiness Hubs Fund. A fund that provides one-off grants to local community providers in County Durham and Darlington to launch, or extend current projects which will provide non-crisis mental health support, by providing spaces that can be accessed by local communities.
A total of £100,000 of funding is available and will be used to provide grants of up £5,000. This fund is part of NHS County Durham Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG’s) wider Community Crisis Care Transformation delivery. Successful projects will deliver positive outcomes for people affected by poor mental health, enabling them to live a happier, healthier and safer lives.
Carol Gaskarth, PCP Chief Executive, said: “As an organisation we have an emphasis on supporting people and communities to improve their mental wellbeing and resilience, and this fund will provide vital support at a neighbourhood level. Many people may be struggling with social isolation, loneliness or feel detached in the current climate and the fund aims to support small organisations across Darlington and County Durham to provide a safe place for people to go.
“Mental health doesn’t discriminate, anyone can suffer from poor mental health and 1 in 4 people England each year will have a mental health problem. We’re delighted to work with the CCG and other partners and establishing local ‘Happiness Hubs’ and when they’re up and running I look forward to visiting to see how they are working to support positive wellbeing for all.”
