Greenfield Community College ‘Class of 2018’ celebrated strong and well-deserved GCSE success this summer, sustaining the school’s reputation for high academic achievement. Executive Headteacher David Priestley acknowledged the hard work of both staff and students. “We are proud of each and every one of our students. The students have received dedicated support not only from our strong expert teaching team but have had the benefit of invaluable support and encouragement from our wider school community including parents/carers. We are very proud of all of our students and wish them every continued success.” These GCSE results have been achieved amidst huge reorganisation of the national examination system and 2018 was always going to be the time that significant national change was at its peak. The effort, dedication and commitment from staff and students at Greenfield Community College should be credited and has been realised in the successful improved results.

The school achieved English GCSE 4+ (C+) at 69% and Maths GCSE 4+ (C+) at 69%. 75% of students achieved grade 7+ (A+) in Dance, 20% achieved 7+ (A+) in German and seven students achieved the illusive grade 9 in English Literature whilst four students achieved the same grade in English Language and six at grade 9 in RE. Greenfield Community College Vice Chair of Governors, Ian Dennis added, “I am delighted to acknowledge the great team effort from everyone involved with the school. The governing body appreciates all the hard work of staff and students and support of our families and the community in the continuous journey of improving results. Very best wishes for continued success to the ‘Class of 2018’ in the next step on their journey.”
