Dear Sir
Whilst out walking on the path beside the railway line, between Newton Aycliffe and Shildon on 18th April, my Wife and I found a grave marker, dumped in the bushes to the side of the railway.
It is the type which has a simple message and holds flowers and, judging from the dirt accommulation, has been there for a while.
It is our wish to get this grave marker back to where it should be, as I am sure that relatives must be suffering, not only from the loss of a loved one, but from the theft of the stone.
Please find below the message as read from the marker and I hope someone recognises it:
Sharon, a treasured daughter, sister, granddaughter and niece (front). DoB: 20.03.64 (left side), Passed: 24.04.84 (right side). On the rear, it is marked with the plot number of H50.
I have cleaned the stone for the family and passed it to Bishop Auckland Police Station on 19th April. If anyone recognises it, please call them on 101 and please also contact me on darranweston@yahoo.co.uk and I will remount it for the family as I would like to see this grave marked once again.
D. Weston
